Board of Directors 2019

Our Board has been working hard together since April of 2012.  We are proud of our work so far and look forward to continuing the work of Summit For Parkinson’s.  We are pleased to present the current Board of Directors:

Hadley Ferguson – Board President

Hadley Ferguson - Board President is a prominent Montana artist and mother who was diagnosed with YOPD in July of 2010.

Hadley Ferguson graduated from the University of Montana in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.  After graduating Hadley moved to Portland Oregon and began work as an artist. Two years later Hadley returned to Missoula, Montana and developed a successful full-time business painting commissions for private and public entities.

In June of 2010 Hadley was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease. Since her diagnosis she has been actively involved in fundraising efforts for the Parkinson’s community. In 2010 she attended a Michael J. Fox Round table meeting at OHSU in Portland, OR.

In 2011 Hadley’s deep dedication to those with chronic illness, especially those with Parkinson’s Disease, compelled her to join forces with Brandi Roman, another Young Onset patient, and became a Board member for Summit for Parkinson’s.

Since getting involved with Summit for Parkinson’s, Hadley directed the creation and design of our website, organized The Missoula Parkinson’s Awareness Weekend held October 20-22, 2011 a three-day event for patients and their families. She has organized several other fundraising events.

Hadley has been the liaison for Summit for Parkinson’s with the Brian Grant Foundation and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. In March of 2012, Hadley was a guest speaker on a Patient Panel for the OHSU Young Onset Parkinson’s Conference. Her role with summit for Parkinson’s is President of the Board.

Dr. Tom Seekins – Board Member

Dr. Tom Seekins - Board Member earned his Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Kansas in 1983. He has 25 years of experience in rehabilitation services and research.

He has served as Associate Director of Research for the Rural Institute on Disabilities at The University of Montana since 1988 and as the Director of the RTC: Rural since 1993. He has served on numerous state and national boards, most recently as President of the National Association of Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers. He has published over 50 professional papers on rehabilitation and community psychology topics.

Dr. Seekins is particularly interested in issues of rural community development, consumer empowerment, and health promotion for people with disabilities.

Tom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2007.

Robin Bright Round – Board Member

Robin Bright Round - B0ard Member Robin graduated from the University of Montana in 1989. That same year, she married her husband, Dennis.

The two would make back and forth moves to their beloved Montana, before finally settling in Missoula in 2011. Robin is a die-hard sports fan. She really enjoyed her time as a Montana Class B supporter when her children attended Loyola Sacred Heart High School. Robin has four kids, all in the 20s, and one 4-month old grandson. "Giving back" to the community is a lifelong lesson taught to her by her father, who while transferring from base to base in his military career, always found ways to be a part of any community the family landed in. The Parkinson's Summit board is especially dear to Robin's heart as one of her childhood friend's has early onset Parkinson's. She currently serves also on House Corporation Board and as the Employment Chairman for the Pi Chapter of Delta Gamma. Robin is also a board member of the American Cancer Society Gala. The last two years, she has substitute taught at Hellgate Elementary, while enjoying travel and outdoor activities.

Jolyn Ortega – Board Member

JOLYN ORTEGA - BOARD MEMBER   Jolyn is an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, and specializes in neurological diseases and chronic pain  She is also certified in the Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery Program.  Jolyn values collaborating with other health professionals and believes it’s an honor to have the opportunity to guide others towards health and harmony.
